September 2022 Dental Office Management and Leadership Ideas

Hello Friends,

How is the month of September looking for your office? I hope that it is looking healthy and productive. If it is looking a little weak – I have some office management and leadership ideas that when implemented, will help strengthen it.

Leadership and Employee Appreciation Ideas

Bring Your Manners To Work Day: 1st

Good manners are cost-effective. They not only increase the quality of life in the workplace, they contribute to employee morale, embellish the company image, and play a major role in generating profit.” – Letitia Baldrige

Say please and thank you. Make it a habit to say please every time you ask for something. Saying thank you improves your office, your health, and boosts morale.

Use your Body language Manners – 75-80% of how we interpret what others are (or aren’t) saying is through their body language. Remember, smile more, make eye contact, be attentive and demonstrate that you are listening.

Employee Appreciation Ideas

International Chocolate Day: 13th -Bring in chocolate for the team.
National Coffee Day: 29th  – Starbucks or Coffee Gift Cards or Bring in a special coffee/tea drink for the team.

A gentle reminder (idea) for the team…

Hug Your Boss Day: 8th  – Don’t forget to show appreciation for your boss! They want to hear & feel that they’re appreciated too.

Doctors, if you would like to grow and improve your dental practice and have wondered what it might be like to work with me and what coaching is all about… please feel free to reach out to me to schedule a complimentary, no-obligation coaching call at bhaydenconsulting@gmail.com.

Practice Management tips and reminders for September

Unscheduled Treatment Plans & Hygiene Continuing Care – Reach out to all your patients with incomplete treatment plans and/or that are past-due for their hygiene visit. Encourage them to schedule their appointment during the months of September, October, and November.

It is important to stay in touch with these “unhealthy” patients even IF you have crazy full schedules. They need to know you haven’t forgotten about them and that you care about their health.

Morning Huddle and Chart Reviews –   Look for unscheduled treatment, family members due, unscheduled hygiene patients, etc.  Look for opportunities to help more of your patients smile healthier.

Insurance Renewal Letters – Send out your Insurance and HSA/FSA “Use it or Lose it” reminder texts, emails, and letters. If you would like a sample letter please email me at bhaydenconsulting@gmail.com

Dental Service Special Feature/Mouthguards – September 5th is Mouthguard day. Consider, offering special pricing for custom mouthguards during the month of September.

Dental Office Management and Leadership Ideas for June 2021

Dental Office Management and Leadership Ideas for June 2021

Hello Friends,

Did you catch my dental marketing ideas for June? If not, here is the link June 2021 Marketing Ideas

Now that you have your marketing plans set for June…

Are you looking to boost team morale? Is your dental schedule looking weak?

You’ll find several tips and ideas to help support your vision and mission right here.

Dental Practice Management and Leadership Ideas and Reminders for June

“Leadership is an action, not a position.” – Donald McGannon

Here are 8 Important Actios of Leadership (source: inc.com)

1. Learn to lead by example.

2. Be goal-oriented.

3. Take responsibility.

4. Share the glory.

5. Know how to develop a team.

6. Become a master of communication.

7. Be courageous and assertive.

8. Be confident.

Remember, “you can borrow knowledge, but not action.” – James Clear

Recess At Work Day: 17th

Get outside for a few minutes with your team for some fresh air. If you can’t all get outside, open the windows and turn up the radio.  How about a sweet treat to enjoy during “recess”? (ex: ice cream, frozen drink, etc.)

Doctors, if you’re struggling to reach your practice goals or you would just like to improve and refine your current office systems – feel free to contact me for a complimentary, no-obligation 30-minute telephone consultation at bhaydenconsulting@gmail.com to see if a coaching relationship is right for you.

Hygiene Continuing Care/Recare Reminders:

Postcard & Social Media Site Scripting Idea: Summertime is a great time of year and it can also be a busy time of year. We encourage you to remember to take the time to squeeze in your regular dental visit before the summer months fly by. Regular dental visits are so important to your overall health.

Incomplete Treatment Reports:

Many insurance companies renewed their maximum on June 1st. Pull a report of any patients due in hygiene or with incomplete treatment that have a June renewal date. Make calls and send letter/text/email that their maximum renewed and encourage them to schedule an appointment.

Some questions to consider:

  • Of your active patients (seen in the last 18 months) how many have a next appointment scheduled and how many do not?
  • How many patients left the practice this year?
  • What can you do together as a team to retain more patients by consistently exceeding their expectations?
  • What can you do together as a team to help more patients say yes to your very best care? Remember, When your patients are healthy – the practice is healthy.

Knowing your practice numbers and doing something with what you know about those numbers is key to growing and improving your practice. Numbers tell a story. Numbers tell you if your practice is healthy or unhealthy.

Do you know what your office numbers look like? How many of your active patients are unscheduled? How many patients you’re gaining and losing each month? You need to know where you’re at currently to know how to best care for your patients and what your potential for growth is. To help you get that data quickly, like within minutes – if your PMS is either Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental you can request a complimentary, no-obligation practice data snapshot here: Game-Changing Awareness from Dental Intelligence  – Within minutes we’ll identify your practice’s strengths and uncover hidden opportunities.  I am happy to assist you with this at no charge.

It always brightens my day to hear from you! If you appreciated these complimentary ideas I  would love for you to please take a minute to leave me a review/recommendation here on GOOGLE and/or FACEBOOK.  Thank you!!

Hope you enjoy these ideas and are able to use some of them to help make the month of June a fantastic one for you and your team.

Dental Office Leadership, Marketing, and Management Tips and Ideas for August 2020

Hello Friends,

For many dental practice teams, August and September can be tricky months for growth with the back to school season distractions – even more so with the COVID season “distractions”.

However, these next few months continue to bring wonderful opportunities to be productive and safe while helping your patients and community smile healthier and happier.

With some planning, enthusiasm, and implementation you have the chance to really set yourselves apart from the other offices in the community, welcome more new patients, exceed your current patients’ expectations (get them talking about how awesome you are!), have less stress and more fun as a team. We all need more of that.
