Dental Marketing Ideas for Teacher Appreciation and Nurses Week

Hello Friends,

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”~Henry Adams

May 1st – 7th is Teacher Appreciation Week. It’s always a really busy and fun week for me as I typically help to make it a special week for all of the teachers at my children’s school.

It is also a great opportunity for dental offices to reach out to the teachers in their community.

How can you do that? Here are a few ideas for you:

First, let’s start with any of your patients that are teachers.

Pull a report with any patients that are school teachers and send “We Appreciate You” cards to them. Unexpected and very much welcomed.

Put together some little thank you gifts to give your teacher patients when they come in for their dental appointment during the month of May. See my Pinterest Board for a ton of ideas: Gift Ideas for School Teachers

Second, reach out to the teachers in the community that are not “yet” your patients at your office.

Host a Favorite Teacher Contest. Invite local students to nominate their favorite teacher. Winning teacher gets FREE teeth whitening and a certificate stating they won for favorite teacher. The classroom with the winning teacher gets a gift card for school supplies or pizza/ice cream lunch.

You could easily ask for donations from local businesses to add to the winning teachers prize or for the classroom.

If you prefer, the above ideas could easily be used to celebrate National Nurses day and week – May 6th -12th. Instead of the teachers and schools, you’ll be reaching out to the nurses at local doctors offices, clinics and hospitals.

There are so many ways to celebrate teacher appreciation and nurses week in your dental office. If you would like some help creating a Teacher or Nurses Appreciation marketing campaign for your office. I have lots of ideas. Campaigns that include:  ideas for special offers, patient give-aways/drawings, office fun, community involvement, cross marketing with local businesses and recare/incomplete treatment scripting, please contact me today at bhaydenconsulting@gmail.com

If these ideas don’t interest you, not to worry. Stay tuned as I’m putting together even more dental marketing ideas for the month of May, I’ll share them next week. (These last few weeks have been busy here in Hayden Consulting Land with school music concerts, science fair projects and several home improvement projects…Ugh!)

Wishing you all a very happy and productive Spring!

hayden consulting dental marketing

Holy moly, me oh my, you’re the apple of my eye!

Apple season is upon us. How can that help you keep your dental office the apple of your patients and referring doctors/specialists eyes? I’ll give you some ideas in just a second. I will also share with you some apple idea’s to help catch the eyes of your potential patients. An apple a day won’t keep your dental office away!

October is National Apple Month –

Exceeding Patient Expectations –

Give-Away – Set out a nice bowl/basket of apples to give to your patients and delivery people.

Make an Apple New Patient Family Tree – add an apple to the tree each time a new patient comes in with their first name on it.  OR

Gift Basket Drawing Make an Apple tree and  every time a patient comes in for an appointment during the month you add an apple with their first name on it (full name on the back) and use it for a drawing  to win an apple themed gift basket filled with goodies.

You could even promote that via your social media sites. (Perhaps extend the drawing to new office Facebook likes.)

Events in the Community – Create a hand-out for your patients listing the best local cider mills and apple orchards. Include any fall-themed events taking place in your community.

Apple shaped Gift Of Health Certificates –

Instead of just asking your patient’s to refer their friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to your office, give them a gift of health certificate to share with their friends, family, neighbors & co-workers. Easy as apple pie! 😉

  • Attach an imprinted lip balm, floss card or toothbrush to the certificate. Everyone likes a free gift!

Marketing to local businesses –

Who will you visit in the community?

  • Schools
  • Salons
  • City Hall / Police Station / Fire Department
  • Library

And anywhere else you think might be a good place to bring in new patient’s from. At the very least, you’ll be building healthy & fun relationships with the folks in your community.

What will you bring?

  • Basket of Apples
  • Donuts and Apple Cider
  • Apple Pie
  • Individually wrapped apple with a little jar of caramel.
  • Toothbrush or Lip Balm attached to an apple-shaped gift tag.

Be sure that when you deliver these items, your office information is visible. Maybe include some sort of call to action.

Visit my Pinterest Apple board for more ideas.

How will you track your visits?

Make a list of all of the businesses you visit, include the name of business, address, what you delivered, the date and the names of any of the employees that you met during your visit.  Make a referral source name/code to use if anyone from these businesses call to make an appt. (This means you must be asking every single new patient caller “How did you hear about us?”….and make a record of it.)

Marketing via your Social Media Sites: Here are just a few ways to utilize your social media sites during apple season.

Facebook –

Post  health benefits of apples, apple recipes & craft Ideas to your office Facebook page. Solicit comments, likes and shares.

Ask your patients to:

share their favorite apple recipes on their Facebook page and tag your office or share it on your office Facebook page.

or

have them post a picture of them apple picking or at a cider mill on your office Facebook page.

(Have your team members do this as well.)

Pinterest – On your office Pinterest page create a board all about apples.

Team Building Activity – Get your team together to make apple sauce, apple pie filling, caramel sauce or an apple/cinnamon sugar scrub. Put it in little jars with a ribbon and label with your office information. You can them give away as gifts to your new patients and or referring doctors/specialists. How fun is that?!

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.” – Martin Luther

So many different ways to help exceed the expectations of your current patients and to hopefully, bring in lots of new patients just by planting little seeds every chance you get or create.

I would love to hear all about your plans to make October  a great month. Please comment below to share your ideas or to give this post a like. Thank you!
