Leadership Tip

You Matter to Me Day: October 7th. – No employee will ever complain about being over-recognized and appreciated. Let your employees know just how much they matter to you. Employee appreciation is directly linked with job satisfaction, productivity, happiness at work, and overall team morale. Make sure they feel appreciated and valued!

Boss’s Day: October 16^th – Plan now to make this a special day for your boss(es).

Practice Management Reminders...

Get Proactive – Look ahead at the doctor & hygiene schedules for the rest of the year. Plan now for how you’ll reach/exceed your scheduling, production, and collection goals for the final quarter. Have you reserved some time at the end of the year to accommodate emergencies, lab case treatment, and those patients who wait until the last minute to use their insurance benefits? Remember, you get to control the schedule. Stressful & chaotic? Or Productive and smooth? Your choice 🙂

Insurance Renewal Letters – Send out your Insurance and HSA/FSA “Use it or Lose it” reminder texts, emails, and letters. Make calls to patients with unscheduled treatment plans and/or due in hygiene. Have you gotten started on this?

Dental Practice Management and Leadership Tips and Ideas for January 2021

Hello Friends,

December is a great time to find and create opportunities for growth in the New Year. Make your action plan for any wanted and needed improvements to your office including setting your production, collection, treatment, continuing education, and new patient goals for the new year.

While you’re at it – think seriously about any troubles, concerns and problems that occurred during the year that you do not want to repeat in the new year. What problems would you like to see solved? Take steps to make any needed changes or improvements.

Practice Management Tips and Ideas

Insurance Renewals – Many of your patients’ dental insurance maximums renew on January 1^st. Reach out to your patients with a friendly reminder of their renewed benefits and to schedule them to come in for their hygiene visit or unscheduled treatment with the doctor. Share insurance renewal reminders on your social media pages, too.

Unscheduled Patients – It doesn’t do any good to have active patients if they’re not scheduled for a future appointment. Make plans to reach out to all your unscheduled patients and invite them to schedule an appointment for their hygiene visit or if they have unscheduled treatment plans.

National Clean Off Your Desk Day: 11^th – Clutter represents indecision. Decide to get rid of the clutter! That includes any sticky notes attached to computer monitors, coats/sweaters hanging on the backs of chairs and fast-food drink containers sitting out on the counters.

National Bagel Day: 15^th – Surprise your team and bring in bagels for breakfast 😊

Dental Practice Management Ideas and Reminders for June

Hygiene Continuing Care/Recare Reminders:

Postcard & Social Media Site Scripting Idea: Summertime is a great time of year and it can also be a busy time of year. We encourage you to remember to take the time to squeeze in your regular dental visit before the summer months fly by. Regular dental visits are so important to your overall health.

Incomplete Treatment Reports:

Many insurance companies renewed their maximum on June 1st. Pull a report of any patients due in hygiene or with incomplete treatment that have a June renewal date. Make calls and send letter/text/email that their maximum renewed and encourage them to schedule an appointment.

Men’s Health Week: 11-18th

Say Something Nice Day: 1st – This one is easy, look for opportunities to say something nice to your team. What did we do “right” yesterday? How did we go the extra mile for a patient? Did you notice any team member that did something nice for a patient or another team member?

Commendation – Commend your employees or fellow team members when you catch them doing something “right”. Commendation boosts morale. Commend & reward the behavior and actions that you want to see more of. Simply thanking your team at the end of the day goes a long way in making them feel appreciated. Thank them for going the extra mile to help a patient out, or for the day running smoothly, or for always getting to work on time.

Don’t forget to say something nice to your patients too!

National Thank God It’s Monday Day: 5^th (First Monday)

Positive Power of Humor and Creativity Days: 6^th – Schedule a team meeting this week and offer prizes for the most creative marketing and practice management ideas to help improve the office.

Recess At Work Day: 15^th (Third Thursday)

Get outside for a few minutes with your team for some fresh air. If you can’t all get outside, open the windows and turn up the radio. How about a sweet treat to enjoy during “recess”? (ex: ice cream, frozen drink, etc.)
